Reviews for "Treasure in the Shawnee Hills"
Ronald Launius
Hello Bob:
Great book. I throughly enjoyed reading
it. That should be obvious to you from the fact that once I started, couldn't
put it down. You really should follow up with more stories.
As I read along, in the back of my mind I
kept thinking that at some point, they would get the bad news that the coins
belonged to the Shawnee Bank, or it's legal descendants. I figured the
government would figure out some way to get their hands on the money as well.
But you explained all of that very well. Way to go.
It was a great story. Well done.
Thank you for remembering me. In my blurb
at the St. Louis book club forum, I mentioned that this was one of the
pleasures from my simple hobby of postcard collecting. I have met interesting
people from all over the world. You being counted among them.
Please keep in touch and let me know of future
developments.
Your friend over in Missouri.
Ronnie

Loved the blend of fiction and the author's family
history and found the accompanying photos quite interesting. Also loved the
underlying tension which kept me on the edge of my seat waiting for one of those
who were confided in and trusted by the main character to betray him. I found it
to be a good read and hope the author continues the adventure.

Great Adventure, Great Fun! By BrendaUSA on August 7, 2014Format: Paperback
For anyone who is looking for adventure and a fantastic treasure hunt, this is the book for you! This story captured me from the beginning (you can read an excerpt on the author's website) and I wasn't disappointed. Gold is picked off from a bank and the intruders head for the hills with the posse on their heels. It's not a typical western though ~ what happens in those mysterious hills is anyone's guess and is also where the story really gets interesting. Horses, gold, a treasure hunt in a beautiful rugged landscape, plus real photographs that the writer has interspersed throughout the story all add to the intrigue. It's a great read and one you will enjoy. If you like this you can keep it all going by reading this author's following book: Shawnee: The Adventure. I definitely recommend!

By Triple R - See all my reviews 4 out of 5 stars Ready for Book 3, August 16, 2012
This review is from: Shawnee: The Adventure Continues (Kindle Edition)
"The Adventure Continues" is an interesting and surprising sequel to "Treasure in the Shawnee Hills". I thought I knew where this story was going (I didn't!), great plot twist at the end. No spoilers here, but it makes me want to read book 3 in this series.
